The eyewear features 1080/30p video recording and can capture up to 8-megapixel still images, with burst and time lapse modes available.
The Durango Matte Black model includes the flat black frames with Smoke Grey lenses. Within the frames is a 4-element Largan glass lens, 8 megapixel Sony CMOS sensor, 44.1 kHz mono microphone, 8GB of flash memory, a Micro USB 2.0 connector, and a 440mAh lithium polymer battery.
A power button and pivot switch provides operational control. Connect your Pivothead sunglasses to your Mac or PC via a USB cable for complete configuration control and file downloading using the Pivothead Desktop App.
Full HD Video Recording: Record POV 1080p video at 30 fps, or 720p video at 30 or 60 fps. The built-in microphone captures 44.1 kHz AAC audio. Customizable settings give you flexible control over focus, letting you choose from continuous, auto, fixed, or macro focus options. You can also set your exposure to Auto, Bright, or Dim settings, letting you adapt to a variety of lighting conditions. Additional features include Face Tracking, Time/Date stamp, and Black & White mode.
8-Megapixel Still Images: Besides video, you can also capture 8, 5, or 3 megapixel still images. Auto or macro focus options are available, as well as the same Auto, Bright, and Dim exposure settings found in video mode. Photo mode adds the ability to set the exposure at 200, 800, or 1600 ISO.
Burst Mode: Capture bursts of 3, 5, 10, or 16 photos at full 8 megapixel resolutions. This is great for capturing action sequences or creating GIFs and cinemagraphs.
Time Lapse Mode: Six time lapse settings allow to you capture hands-free action sequences over an extended period of time in full resolution.

Pivothead frames, lenses and electronic components are guaranteed against manufacturing defects (1) year from the original date of purchase. Dated proof of purchase from and Authorized Pivothead Reseller will be required for all warranty claims. This limited warranty extends only to products purchased from Pivothead or a Pivothead Authorized Reseller. In the event of defects during this period Pivothead at its option will repair or replace the defective part or product with a comparable part or product. Any repaired product will be warranted for the remainder of the original Warranty Period or thirty (30) days, whichever is longer.
Exclusions and Limitations
Scratches on lens or frames are considered normal wear and tear, and are not covered under this warranty. Pivothead reserves the right to determine what is considered a manufacturing defect.
This limited warranty does not apply if:
(a) if any electronic compartments have been opened, the warranty is void
(b) the product has been altered or modified in any way, except by Pivothead,
(c) a repair has been attempted by anyone other than a facility authorized by Pivothead to repair the product,
(d) the product has not been operated, or maintained in accordance with instructions supplied by Pivothead,
(e) the product has been subjected to abnormal physical stress, dropping, water or sand damage, misuse, mishandling, electrical current fluctuations, negligence, or accident,
(f) the serial number on the Product has been altered, defaced, or removed.
Pivothead excludes liability for any loss or damaged data which is erased in connection with the repair or replacement of a warranty claim. Pivothead is not responsible for shipping charges associated with warranty returns. Pivothead assumes no liability for any accident, injury, death or any loss or claim related to or resulting from the use of Pivothead products.

Obtaining Warranty Service
Please contact our Customer Service Department at email@example.com if you are needing warranty services or have any questions at all. We’re here to help five days a week and will respond within 24 hours (usually much quicker though).
Our Customer Service Department will make all attempts to rectify your problems. If we are unable to resolve the issues, we will ask you to send in the product(s) for further review / assessment. In order to send in your product(s) for further review, you must first obtain a RETURN AUTHORIZATION NUMBER (RA#).
Once you have received the RA#, as well as our return address, kindly return the product(s) with a copy of your original receipt and a brief explanation of the nature of the problem(s).
Once our team receives your product(s), we will first determine if the product(s) are experiencing issues because of a true manufacture defect or owner abuse/neglect. If the product(s) shows true manufacture defect, we will either repair or replace the product(s). Please be aware not to attempt repair yourself, as this will void the manufacture warranty.

I've been using Pivothead Durangos on my YouTube show since the fall of
2013, honestly can't think of one negative thing seriously.
For the size of the technology and ease of use plus the fact it's absolutely
true POV video they work.
I only use the Durango because I need a strong frame, they get seriously
banged around here on the show, serious abuse.
Considering how much use I put them through, I have 6 pairs charging all the time for a day's filming, use them in all conditions, +30°C to -30°C, rain, snow, I've only had one pair die. And that was only because I accidently threw them down on a cement floor off my head, not the technology's fault, 100% mine.
Pivothead recovered the video on them for me no charge, great service.

I bought an original series Kudo a few years back and loved them for the motorcycle and many other activities. My son and Father both bought the Kudo as well. I just bought another pair of Durangos and not only is it a great product but the support was 2nd to none when I had questions. I love them and will buy more when these are old enough.

I use this for work, as a public safety officer i deal with people everyday especially on traffic stops, easy to turn on and one click away to record, good hidden camera good point of view, i recommend this due to good quality and sound quality perfect! ... im looking forward to buy prescription lenses for the use of wearing it during the night also. But over all the looks are good, it does heat up at times, but hope nothing wrong happen in long term while having them. so far so good!

I've enjoyed my Pivothead Durango HD Cam Glasses. They are comfortable, easy to start and stop recording and I've had no issues in downloading to my Mac and Windows machines.
The video quality is exceptional but I was most impressed with the audio quality which comes across crisp and clean!
They are certaining worth the money! The next version, SMART, look to continue the advancement of the Pivothead glasses with SDK offerings along with a Streaming Service. A real game changer!

As some of you may already said, it depends on how you intend to use it. I find this product to be fantastic. Amazing pictures, amazing video quality with surprising stability. The only unstable thing is the fact that our heads move faster than our eyes, especially when you are watching a video.
I tried this for long rides on my motorcycle. I use this to record my rides. The video quality at slow and fast speed is very satisfactory. I watched many GoPro videos and this product is head to head with the best cameras out there. However, it beats all of them because you don't have to worry about mounting and riding with a camera mounted on top of your helmet. This looks like very cool sunglasses. I also ordered the blue lenses and they are super cool.
Now the down side, which every new technology has, is the sound. The microphone works perfectly if you are setting, walking or riding at a very low speed (<20mph). Once you pick up speed, the voice is very distorted and you can hardly understand what you are saying. I tried to cover the mic with a band aid. It actually works and improved slightly, but still not good enough at high speed to enjoy talking while riding. Pivothead certainly needs to spend some more R&D money on this then they will have the perfect product when it comes to action cameras.
I still love the product, the idea, the technology and don't mind spending the money to support it hopping for the next product to be a better one.

The video quality is good. The audio quality is surprisingly good. There are only two things that bother me.
1. The style is pretty clunky. My goal with these glasses is to be inconspicuous. The pictures online made the style look fine, but in person...it's not. Every time I've entered a room wearing them, they are immediately the topic of conversation.
2. I read someone else's review that mentioned this. The 'aim' of the camera is a little high. It's high enough that I've cut off things that I wanted to be in the shot. I have to actively think about the aim for me to get good video.
For a product as unique as this, I would say they're pretty good. I'm hoping that the SMART glasses or the next generation addresses these concerns.

I use these glasses to primarily video capture catching fish, and I have noticed a few critical glitches. For starters, if you power them up and immediately hit the record button they seem to autoshut off after 10-15 seconds which means you miss most of your intended video - unless you pause to hit record again, which is hard if you are engaged in your activity.
Second, the battery drains fairly fast when leaving it "on" without "record" set e.g.: the blue LED so if you are doing that I recommend buying the battery pack available to connect to these as I have.
Finally, depending on your desired use these can easily be rated from very shitty, to absolutely amazing.
While I appreciate that Hero cameras can be mounted to helmets, it is simply not the same as this product. The video is TRULY FPV (first person point of view) and it cannot be beat. Although (CAVEAT) you will need to workout where the camera sees compared to where your eyes see, and depending on proximity you might think you are filming only to discover that you are not. It will take a learning curve, but is resolvable.
RE: depending on what you intend to use it for
Looks like your Pivotheads are not functioning correctly. After you see the blue LED illuminate you should be able to quickly press the record button and not have any issues. They should keep recording until you have pressed the record button for a second time stopping the video capture.
