I'm very happy with my sun glasses smart edition the quality are very fine and the size are very similar like to another glasses, the only issue is when it's recording the part of where the battery goes are to heat, but are very nice glasses

I used these on a ski trip and they took some amazing video. However, the charge on the battery didn't last very long. Maybe 10-15 minutes. Not what I was expecting given current battery technology.

I just want to say that I love these glasses. They're an innovative product that offers a lot out of the box, and with continued upgrades in software and development of more features in the future, plus maybe finding a way for a little bit more stability to reduce shakiness with quicker head turns and whatnot, there's a lot of potential to make an already amazing product even better! I've had them for about a week and a half, and I've already gotten a ton of interest in them from fellow musicians and falconers who were impressed by the video quality and live streaming potential these glasses have to offer. I believe in them enough that I've already applied to the affiliate program and I hope I get to become one, because I really enjoyed showing them to some of my bass brothers in the Warwick family, including the owner of Warwick. A few of them are already ready to buy a pair, and are waiting to see if I get accepted so they can buy some through me!
I can't wait to see where the future leads for Pivothead, and I firmly believe that the arrow is only pointing up for this company!
Keep rocking it!

I have been a fan of Pivothead recording glasses for a long time. I owned the Pivothead Durango version in the past but I decided to upgrade when I discovered Pivothead was coming out with a new version.
I wanted these glasses mainly for making videos for my YouTube Channel (JoDroProductions)
I was pleasantly surprised of the build quality and style of the new Pivothead Smart glasses. I style mine with the half jackets because they seem more discreet that way. Battery life is very good, 20-30 minutes tops with out the fuel mod, 40-50 minutes with the fuel mod attached.
Only issues I have found is that when the glasses overheat, you are not able to turn off the glasses, not even with the phone app's assistance. You will lose your footage if the glasses shut off while you are recording. The previous recorded files that are stored on the glasses will be just fine. Files only become corrupted when glasses shut off mid recording.
Other than that I am very happy with my Pivothead Smart glasses and I already have several videos on my YouTube Page showcasing the glasses performance .

Today, I received my pair of SMART ARCHITECT BETA EDITION - COAL BLACK (MATTE) glasses.
Here are my initial observations...
The FedEx shipment arrived on time without issue.
Unboxing the SMART ARCHITECT BETA EDITION - COAL BLACK (MATTE) glasses felt a lot like unboxing an Apple product. A lot of polish went into the packaging.
Documentation has pictures for the bigger words. It's minimal at best. Everything else you might need is online. I printed the tech specs out to PDF just so I don't need to keep going online to get the details.
Packaged documentation tells you to charge up. Unfortunately it does not tell you how long you'll have to wait. Online specified about an hour. The reality of the situation on my 2012, 17-inch MacBook Pro was more like 2 hours.
I downloaded the OS X app. The firmware upgrade went smoothly.
I registered my device online.
REQUEST ARCHITECT SOFTWARE DEVELOPERS - Put the functionality into your desktop app - one stop shopping would be preferred here - besides, the serial number on the glass is super tiny. Almost as bad as Apple! Let the software pull the S/N and have a registration page in your desktop app for those of us who don't want to go blind trying to decipher if that's an uppercase I or a lower case l. ;-)
Other than that, the OS X app is fairly straight forward. I'm not a fan of the Microsoft Windows 10 style UI and color scheme, especially on my Mac, but hey - at least the software performs as expected.
I downloaded the iOS companion app for my iPhone - same as the OS X desktop app - performs as expected. I love the ability to control the camera from the phone and change settings on the fly. Very nice.
I wish the iPhone app has a preview mode - similar to HTC's RE. Architect Software Developers - Something to think about... ;-)
After everything was charged up, I took the unit out for a test run. Product documentation doesn't tell us how long the internal battery life is good for without a Fuel Mod. I got about 20-30 minutes in before LED's started flashing. According to the iPhone app, I was down to 50%.
Physical design... The glasses have some weight to the front. This is to be expected since I'm guessing this is where the bulk of the components are physically located.
The frames are a bit wide. I have a smaller head (6-3/4 hat size)... The glass feel a little loose and sloppy on me and when I lean forward, the slip forward off my nose. I'm going to have to find a way to make them more secure on my face.
Touch controls worked quite well for video, image capture and burst mode. Getting the time lapse to work without the iPhone app is tricky and I doubt its something I will use much, especially without the app.
I don't have the LiveMod yet, so I can't speak to those features.
Image stabilization is fairly solid, but I do find myself getting a bit queazy when watching a video with a lot of motion (ie walking, head turning, etc.). The quality is pretty good. Superfine mode is still a bit grainy at times. I might need to play with the focus a bit.
I walked around downtown for sometime while filming. The glasses were super discreet and no one batted an eye at me. I really like this.
I did try to put the wire frames on and they were more trouble than they were worth. Stuck with the plastic frames. Also, I notice the threads on the glasses where the screws belong are plastic. Too many frame/lens swaps and you might end up with stripped plastic. I am thinking a little blue locktight might be in order too.
All in all, a very nice set up.
4 stars overall for quality and ease of use.
I'm looking forward to the LiveMod arriving soon so I can test that out as well.

I previously owned two pairs of Durangos but alas, both broke possibly due to hard use. I liked the way those glasses really clamped onto the head. Excellent for action.
So, the SMART series are in many ways better: The look, the modularity and the much needed fuel mod! Had some issues with connectivity to the Android app, still drops out on connectivity but does get there.
The additional battery juice support makes up for those niggles.
Here's my only very minor gripe: the previous series really stuck to my head. The SMARTs are just a little loose on the head. I would really prefer these if they gripped my head like an octopus before using for action.
Perhaps there's an accessory that could resolve this? A strap or something would make this awesome! Would definitely fall off at high speed otherwise.
Anyway, love these and use everyday.

This model has some major improvements over the original and the smart features are much appreciated. Lights inside the front frame can be seen when wearing so you can tell when recording, streaming, or when livemod connects to wifi. Port covers keep coming off when removing livemod or fuelmod - will probably end up losing those but this is a minor fix - would suggest that one end stay attached. Great picture quality with lots of setting options and easy touch controls. Heat up when streaming but designed so that they don't touch your head where warm - something that was a problem with Google Glass, so kudos to the Pivothead team for working that out. Awesome product - bought 5 and will probably end up with a few more.

A great way to look good and also be ready to capture life's moments. I would like longer battery life though

Pictures are awesome. They are comfortable and easy to maintain and the lenses swap out with ease.

Best pair of video recording glasses I have bought thus far. Gets the job done based on my expectations.
